Hotels cause headache

Nar Zanolin, Secretary-General of FIBA Europe, wonders why Lithuanian cities build impressive arenas but pay no attention to accommodation for visitors of major international events.

After visiting six Lithuanian cities last week to evaluate their readiness to host the 2011 European Men's Basketball Championship, representatives of FIBA Europe named hotels as the major problem. Municipal representatives reassured the guests by presenting development plans of Romantic hotel. Alytus and Siauliai do not have suitable hotels at all.
