Lithuanians are cancelling their holidays at the last minute.

Some travel companies are forced to cancel certain travels due to the insufficient number of clients. Due to the decrease in incomes, Lithuanians forget travel agencies and start planning their holidays themselves. In does not seem difficult to purchase skiing equipment and book accommodation online. Andrius Stonys, Director of UAB Kalnu Upe, says: "The competition between tourism agencies and travel companies is now enormous, since all clients are seeking the cheapest possible offers. The situation in the tourism sector is not good. The last year was very bad, and the situation does not improve this year. Our income has dropped by around 40% and the number of clients has shrunk by around 25%."
