Airports see decline

Last year, Lithuanian airports serviced 1.9 million passengers, a decrease of 26.8% compared with 2008.


Lithuanian air carriers serviced 675 thousand passengers, a decrease of 41.9%. 611.5 thousand passengers (90.6%) were transported on non-regular flights, the Department of Statistics reports. Most passengers arrived from and left for the UK (320.4 thousand, or 17.1%), Latvia (235.2 thousand, or 12.6%), Germany (184.5 thousand, 9.9%), Denmark (165.4 thousand, 8.9%), and Ireland (158 thousand, 8.5%).
