Riga to be turned into another

A large exhibition and conference centre will be completed in Riga by 2014, operated by German-based Messe Franfurt Venue GmbH, and the protocol of intent will be signed in March.

The company initially showed interest in building such venue after learning about the Riga international airport financial results and the plans to build the new passenger terminal, and the centre will be built not too far from the airport. According to Riga City Council, due to advantageous geographical position, the new centre could attract exhibition and conference participants from both Europe and Russia and CIS states. The amount of investments is not known at the moment.
