Nowadays, most entrepreneurs, specialists and officials now choose cheaper trips, cheaper hotels and other services, the travel agencies survey shows. The trips are also fewer and shorter. Express Travel agency says the state authorities have halved the number of business trips, and they are prepared to spend less than in previous years. There is also a tendency to delay payment for the trips. Kaleva Travel agency shares the view and says that this year's numbers prove some stabilization and even slight growth can be observed. The company's experts conclude the number of trips could increase this year, but the total turnover might decrease. The conference tourism could return to Latvia this year, Kaleva Tours says, announcing that agency will serve three large and several small conferences this year - the company also notes that the hotels pricing policy is now much more flexible these days. Latvia Tours stresses that there is the competition is very fierce, and some rivals are clearly working with damping prices.
