During the first ten months of 2009, Riga International Airport, led by CEO Krišjānis Peters, served 3,441,717 passengers at a 9.6 percent rise from the same period a year ago.

In October Riga airport served 375,391 passengers at an 11.9 percent increase year-on-year. The airport reported that the number of transfer and transit passengers had continued to grow rapidly. During the ten-month period, Riga airport served 1,133,780 transfer and transit passengers or 33 percent of the total number of passengers, up 2.8 times year-on-year.
