The German-Danish Scandlines Group further improves its new RoPax-service from Ventspils (Latvia) to Travemünde (Germany) started as recently as January 19, 2010.
As of January 24, 2010 the RoPax-vessel "Envoy" will be operated as second vessel onthis connection. The "Envoy" offers a capacity for 220 passengers as well as 1,934 lane metres for freight. Together with the RoPax-vessel "Urd" four weekly departures per direction will be offered. "We had a very promising start with pre-bookings for our new service to Travemünde. We will be back in the currently suspended Baltic States / Rostock corridor within the foreseeable future when we have identified tonnage appropriate for current market demands", says Søren Poulsgaard Jensen, Scandlines' COO Freight Based Network.
