The Sinabung volcano is erupting for the second day in a row, and all planes in the area are warned not to get close to the northern part of Sumatra.
Sinabung has not been active since 1600, which means, that nobody are able to predict pattern for the eruptions. There is red alert in area, and 20.000 people are fleeing. It was not expected that the volcano would erupt again today, but the eruption Monday was heavier than the big eruption Sunday.
All airplanes in the area have been asked to avoid the airspace above northern Sumatra and travelers to Indonesia should expect delays. Several departures by regional companies have been cancelled.
