The preparations are in high gear in Estonia as Tallinn is elected as European cultural capital of 2011.

The extensive program is getting shaped and the logotype and slogan have been found. The slogan is ‘Kultuur kutsub’, which translates to ‘Culture Calls’, which will attract a lot of foreign visitors to come to Tallinn in the year to come.

It is the inhabitants in Tallinn, who stands for most of the ideas in the cultural year. Interesting is, that about 600 propositions from the inhabitants are connected to the sea – or the lack of contact to the Baltic Sea for the inland capital. This should be changed as the majority of points in the program are related to the sea.
