Nearly three per cent more passengers than last year traveled with Viking Line during the summer: 2.1 million travelers.

Tallink's passenger number grew by five percent during the same period. Viking Line Eesti CEO Inno Borodenko said that the number of people wishing to travel with Viking XPRS would have been even bigger, however ferry tickets were constantly sold out because the ships' excess transport capacity is limited.

Viking Line earned a profit of EEK 23,000 alongside turnover worth EEK 41 million (increasing 56 per cent year on year) during the company's 2008-2009 financial year.
