Estonian Air has signed a new aircraft purchase agreement with Bombardier and thus the last condition set by the government for buying out the national airline from SAS has been fulfilled.

Estonian Air and Bombardier will also officially announce the aircraft transaction in the very near future.

Estonian Air reported yesterday the opening of a new flight route as well – the Estonian airline will start flying between Vilnius and Stockholm starting October 31, thereby increasing its influence in Lithuania.

Sources confirm, that the company made a nice profit at least during the summer.

"This year's financial results are clearly better than those during the same period last year, despite losses from the volcanic ash cloud and much higher fuel prices," said Estonian Air Press Representative Ilona Eskelinen.
