the 3rd quarter of 2010

Of which 68% were foreign tourists and 32% - residents of Latvia. The number of foreign visitors has grown by 11.7%, but the number of Latvian visitors - by 11.5%.
The total number of overnight stays in the 3rd quarter of 2011 has reached 1.2 million, and it is 11.1% more than in the 3rd quarter of 2010.
The highest share of the foreign tourists stayed in Riga – 70%, in Jūrmala – 8% and in Ventspils – 7%. The highest share of the Latvian travellers stayed in Riga – 19%, Ventspils – 8%, Liepāja – 8%, and Jūrmala – 4%.
At the end of the 3rd quarter 15.7 thousand rooms and 35.7 thousand bed places were available in the accommodation establishments.
The highest room occupancy rate in Riga hotels was observed in August – 66.8%. But the room occupancy rate in several four-star and five-star hotels of Riga in August reached even 95%.
